Once upon a time, had a Motorola 2-way 2m radio
- Back in the “tube days”
There were a few (open) repeaters in Houston, but could never hear it
Called a friend, and he recommended get a preamp
- Had an old 50-800 MHz preamp laying around
- Worked great!

443.425 repeater has a preamp on top of the tower for his (and other) receivers
- Ah, so that’s why his repeater is so good.

Spent 8 hours this weekend with KG5LYE and AD5RN putting up a dipole in the attic
Was able to reach the Cayman Islands and Frankenstein, MO (W0O) on 20m

Dr. Bosshard (AD5RN) has helped with resolving intermod on the O&M building
Pondering some hardware for W5AC receiver: pre-amp, window or notch filter, diplexer for multiple bands
