- D-STAR nets on 2nd and 4th Tuesday after W5BCS net
- trying to put together a list of individuals who have digital (D-STAR, DMR, Fusion, “Hot spot thumb drive”) capabilities
- sent around a “sign-up sheet”
- Robertson County putting together an ARES club
- Jim Hanks Jr. (W5CYN) is coordinator
- Note: don’t have to live in county(-ies) for which you want to be a member.
- Note: can also be member of multiple counties
- RACES is an international organization run by FCC
- can’t self-activate; called on by local judges
- vs. ARES, which can self-activate, and has done so for emergencies and local events
