Comments
- KC5BHM: Is there any testing available?
- None currently planned and emergency orders from Governor Abbot make it difficult. Check with W5VUI to see if he has options.
- N5ZKF: Battery box project
- N5SBN: If you need to hold spare fuses for your radios, consider a small magnetic keybox, which could attach to the steel chassis of your equipment.
- N5GQB: As Seen on TV: “Battery Daddy”, a plastic carrying case for all your dry cell batteries. Might be found in local stores, eventually.

Information Exchange
N5ZKF: My neighbor, Rod Hotz, K5BGB, sent along a cautionary tale regarding tower safety. K1TO fell in August and still has not recovered from damage done to his vision, broken bones, ability to care for himself. K1TO had climbed a tower that was later found to not have any sort of foundation at all. The tower fell with K1TO still connected to it. There are other stories similar to this and you really need to be careful when working on or around antenna towers. You should have the training, equipment, and sufficient ground support for any such work. If there’s a tower in your future, make sure you understand and follow the engineering specifications for proper installation, including a sufficient foundation structure to support the tower.
