Club Logo Embroidery
Lorna Flansburg (KI5FIZ)
- Embroidered merchandise
- CC creations needs order of 12+ items
- Monograms & More (henceforth M&M) has one-time $75 fee to digitize the file
- members can choose a shirt or hat at no extra charge
- getting it embroidered on existing item costs $15
- Patch
- what size?
- plain-backed, iron-on, velcro
- how much embroidery? 100%, 50%, …
- 100 ct. 3 in. patches would cost at most $200
- What would club like to do?
- Jim Hanks Jr. (W5CYN): home-based embroidery business in Franklin
- cheaper to digitize
- may not be able to handle as much capacity as M&M
- Dick Zimmer (W5DZ): can recommend M&M
- Wayne Pecena (N1WP): also recommend M&M
- Kevin Walton (N4RMF): M&M – club wouldn’t have to manage inventory
- Matthew Barry (KG5LYE):
- Motion by Clark Pennington (KC5BHM): spend $75 to digitize the logo at M&M and let club members get merchandise of choice from them
- seconded by Connor Farrell (WG1GEM)
- discussion
- Phil Gates (N5ZKF):
- business has logo on just about everything and on file for people to customize their own stuff
- I really like the flexibility that it offers
- have also done custom-designed patches in the past
- Can also make W5BCS club logo file available to club members; maybe put some “guardrails” about usage
- Motion by Lorna Flansburg (KI5FIZ) to amend: spend $75 to digitize the logo at M&M and purchase sample item to give away as door prize
- seconded by Ernest Laney (K5ENL)
- passes unanimously
- Phil Gates (N5ZKF):
- passes unanimously
- Jim Hanks Jr. (W5CYN): home-based embroidery business in Franklin
