    • 2 m / 70 cm FM simplex and repeater
  • Icom ID-5100A in my Prius
    • 2 m / 70 cm FM, D-STAR
    • can listen on air band
    • dual simultaneous receiver

  • Yaesu 450D with MFJ power supply in motor home
  • mag-mount antenna

  • “I get by with a little (maybe a lotta) help from my friends”
  • Antarctica has been on the air:
    • 14.130 MHz a few days ago
    • 7.049 MHz on CW
  • “When in doubt, change it out” (in reference to old vacuum tubes)
    • same goes for coax cables these days…
    • might look fine from the outside, BUT:
      • conductor or dielectric can crack
      • it can get water in it
    • replaced a 25 ft section of coax with 100 ft and got a 300% increase in signal at the other end
  • Matthew Barry (KG5LYE):
    • same goes for Internet/TV/Cable coax feeds
    • just had ours replaced today: Internet got a lot faster and seems to be more reliable now
