  • June Monthly ARES meeting will be 2022-06-06 18:30 at American Red Cross
    • Note: first Monday instead of usual second Monday
  • Most memorable spot: Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch
    • Box canyon in West Texas
    • no cell service, but made a few radio contacts and sent some Winlink emails

  • In 1968, my license got lost in the mail
  • Set up with the MARS operators in Germany near the Rhine River (Frankfurt) to get on the air
    • Call sign: AE1KZ
    • Club call: DL4KZ

  • In the Navy stationed in Adak, Alaska
    • Watched one of the Petty Officers make contacts all over the world from the barracks
